HALLOWE’EN RECITAL ENTRY GUIDELINES

  1. PURPOSE
    • A fun performance opportunity for our younger students.
  2. WHO MAY ENTER
    • Students from Active Etobicoke-Mississauga ORMTA members in good standing.
      • Ages 13 and under
  3. WHEN IT IS HELD
  4. WHERE IT IS HELD
    • Christ First (Sanctuary)
      • 1700 Mazo Crescent, Mississauga, ON
  5. NUMBER OF PIECES TO PERFORM
    • Students may enter:
      • one solo piece
      • one ensemble piece
        • Each student is limited to a maximum of one solo piece and one ensemble piece.
  6. TIME LIMIT FOR PIECE(S)
    • Each teacher is responsible for timing the piece(s) and staying within the allotted time limit.
      • Solo piece
        • Maximum 2 minutes
      • Ensemble piece
        • Maximum 2 minutes
  7. FEES
  8. HOW TO PAY
    • ONE cheque, submitted by the teacher, must accompany the fully completed event application form (see #9).
      • Cheques from entrants are NOT acceptable.
      • Make cheque payable to ORMTA Etobicoke-Mississauga Branch.
  9. HOW TO REGISTER
    • To download the event application form, go to this link:

        • Mail or drop off the completed event application form and ONE cheque (see #8) to the Treasurer (name and address on the form).
        • Alternately, you may email the completed event application form to the Treasurer (name and address on the form) and mail or drop off the cheque separately.

HALLOWE’EN RECITAL RULES

  1. Come in costume!
  2. Memorization is not necessary.
  3. Students are encouraged to perform repertoire that is:
    • Hallowe’en themed
    • Spooky
    • Fall-themed
  4. Photocopied music is NOT permitted.
  5. Students must provide their own accompanist (if applicable).
  6. Students and accompanists must arrive 15 minutes prior to show time.
  7. On the event application form, teachers must indicate whether any specific equipment is required for their students’ performance (e.g. CD player, music stands, etc.).
    • Equipment requests made the day of the recital cannot be accommodated.
    • A piano will be provided.
  8. Recording guidelines:
    • Permitted:
      • Parents recording the performance of their child for their own personal use.
      • Prohibited: Recording entrants other than one’s own child.
